Booksweet events are a great place to stay connected to your community, meet cool new people, and add a little bright spot to your week. Join us for our upcoming events in November!
Keep an eye on our calendar for additional events as we add them!
Book Clubs
We hope to invite a group of people who have read the book (or don’t mind a spoiler) to discuss their thoughts about the book (the plot, the characters, and anything else you want to discuss!). We will bring prompts but invite anyone to pose a question or share their thoughts!
After a fun discussion, the group votes on the next session’s read. Feel free to pitch an on-theme book you’ve enjoyed recently or want to read with the group.
While we will have water and light refreshments (including nut-free and gluten-free options), Booksweet is located in The Courtyard Shops, filled with AMAZING dining options. Food and drinks are totally welcome at the meet-up; don’t feel shy about sipping boba while we chat!
Your Eventbrite RSVP is so helpful to our planning. Hope to see you there!

Pages for Progress – A Nonfiction Book Club *new*
Friday November 14, 6pm
Book: Let This Radicalize You by Kelly Hayes & Mariame Kaba
This new quarterly gathering will be a non-fiction book club rooted in community education, collective action, and a deep love for the people that make us great: YOU!
Beginning November 14, Pages For Progress will begin meeting quarterly to discuss a non-fiction book, followed by an activity that gives actionable steps toward something we can do in our community to support the causes that matter to the group.
Our first choice is Let This Radicalize You by longtime organizers and educators Kelly Hayes and Mariame Kaba. The book is an assemblage of co-authored reflections, interviews and questions that are intended to aid and empower activists and organizers as they attempt to map their own journeys through the work of justice-making. We hope you’ll join us.

Author Event – Gabrielle Jones Discusses Killing Kam
Saturday November 15, 11am
Booksweet is thrilled to welcome Gabrielle Jones to discuss her new book, Killing Kam. She will read from the book, answer questions, and sign books! We’ll be offering light refreshments during this event.
About the Book
College junior, Brielle Johnston thinks she finally has her life all set in stone, in the way she has always wanted. She returns home to reminisce about her childhood days of what could have been. That’s when things take a turn for the worst in an unexpected twist.
At a small-town football game, Brielle runs into her long-lost love, Lipton Devonshire, whom she desperately never really got over. She left him behind without any closure from their high school days she dreamed she could have had.
Once she thinks she has everything she has ever wanted, a perfect college career and the chance to reconnect with the love of her life, Kam Larson appears to take it all away and jeopardize her entire future.
Now Brielle must do everything in her power to do whatever it takes to get revenge to have what she longs for. Even if it means killing Kam.
About The Author
Gabrielle Jones was born and raised in a small town in Michigan her whole life, so she is no stranger to the cold weather. She enjoys spending most of her time writing when she has the chance, mostly in the middle of the night when she should be sleeping. She enjoys being able to bring a story to life, being able to capture a story that could easily be told and something that many can relate to at some point in their lives. When Gabrielle isn’t writing either a romance or thriller, she enjoys spending her time with friends or even making a playlist of songs to match her next novel. To stay connected with her, follow her on socials everywhere at Gabriellejonesauthor.
