Hello Readers!

The vaccination effort in Washtenaw County and on the U-M campus seems to be going really well. We are so thankful for that. That said, there are still many people in our community who cannot get vaccinated, including kids under 12. When we leave the shop, we come home to an 11-year old with a bright future ahead of them. Maybe you come home to someone like that too.

With this in mind, here are some health and safety realities in place at Booksweet for the summer / fall:

  • Masks are celebrated and encouraged for all — and available for anyone who needs one.
  • Hand sanitizer will be located near the front of the shop. Please sanitize your hands before and after browsing.

Booksweet Staff:

  • We are fully vaccinated.
  • We will always have masks on.
  • Our family is enrolled in the Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti FREE At-Home Testing Challenge.
  • Our staff receive paid sick days. Bills should never take precedence over health and safety.
  • You can count on us to follow all COVID-19 health and safety protocols from our local and state governments.
  • Whenever possible, we’ll be hosting events outside of the shop in the courtyard space.
  • Event catering will be single serve items: no shared bowls or snack trays.
  • Cleaning of high-touch areas will be a big priority for us, with regular scrubs throughout the day.

It’s important to us that you — and the people you come home to — are healthy, happy, and can stay with us for many chapters to come.

In solidarity,

-Truly + Shaun
