Hello Readers!

Here’s what to expect on the Health & Safety front at Booksweet:

  • Masks are celebrated — and available for anyone who would like one. These are free and in the basket by the front door. While masks are not required, we really do appreciate this expression of care.
  • Hand sanitizer is located near the front of the shop. Please help yourself.

  • We try to keep as many of our events outdoors in the courtyard when the weather is nice.
  • For all indoor seated events (readings, performances, crafting nights, etc), folks will be required to mask unless CDC Community Level for Washtenaw is low.
  • We were checking vaccination cards at events for a while but it’s tricky to continue this method given that we’re at a point in the pandemic when boosters are really important (with varying timing/eligibility requirements). While we’re discontinuing the practice of checking vaccination cards at events, we want to encourage you to keep on top of your COVID boosters. Hello Med, Rite Aid, and CVS are just down the street from us on Plymouth Road and are happy to help you out with this.

Team Booksweet:

  • We are all fully vaccinated and boosted.
  • We will continue to wear masks and test regularly.
  • Our staff receive paid sick days. Bills should never take precedence over health and safety.
  • You can count on us to follow all COVID-19 health and safety protocols outlined by the Washtenaw County Health Department and the CDC.
  • Cleaning is an important priority for us.
  • Please expect transparency and responsiveness from us in the event of a positive COVID case at one of our events.

It’s important to us that you — and the people you come home to — are healthy, happy, and can stay with us for many chapters to come.

In solidarity,

-Truly + Shaun
