Since 2015, author and indie bookstore supporter James Patterson has given holiday bonuses, ranging from $500 – $5,000, to independent bookstore employees. Booksweet bookseller Zoe McKinney was honored as one of Patterson’s 2021 Holiday Bonus Recipients!
Zoe was nominated by Booksweet co-owners Shaun and Truly to recognize her efforts in helping to get the shop up and running. Booksweet’s lease at the Courtyard Shops began on August 1, 2021 and Zoe worked alongside Shaun, Truly, and their 12-year-old kid Raymond in the frantic days (and sleepless nights!) leading up to the shop’s big Community Open House celebration just twelve days later.
Shaun and Truly really appreciate Zoe’s proactive approach to identifying challenges, her level-headed problem-solving skills, and her willingness to roll up her sleeves and tackle any issue that needs a little TLC. And most importantly: Zoe is an amazing bookseller with a gift for friendly banter and book recommendations.
