We have a great line-up of events planned for you all this March, readers! Your Eventbrite RSVP is so incredibly helpful.

Saturday, March 9, 4-5:30 pm at the Ann Arbor District Library (Downtown Branch – 343 South Fifth Ave. Ann Arbor): Books and Bikes Party with Lucy Knisley @ AADL! We are super excited to present one of the Booksweet family’s favorite authors/illustrators/graphic novelists: Lucy Knisley! In partnership with the Ann Arbor District Library, this fun storytime event celebrates Ride Beside Me, Lucy’s new picture book about joy, community and BICYCLES! Bring who you most love to ride beside! Featuring a reading by the author, followed by a signing/sketching, as well as games. Please note: No RSVPs, registrations, or tickets are needed for this library event. Our Eventbrite listing is for promotional purposes only, useful in helping to spread the word. Come one, come all!

Sunday, March 10, 3-4 pm: Silent Reading Party in Support of Planned Parenthood. Let’s get together and read for a good cause! At this event, readers will takeover Booksweet for a Silent Reading Party in support of Planned Parenthood. This is a ticketed fundraiser (give what you can when you register via Eventbrite), with 100% of the net ticket cost donated to Planned Parenthood. We’ll have snacks, good vibes, and a 4 pm presentation by Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan about how you can help advance and protect reproductive rights in our state. Plus, Booksweet will donate 20% of your total in-store purchase to Planned Parenthood ALL DAY LONG on Sunday, March 10. This includes pre-orders, special orders, in-store orders (we’re open from noon-7 on Sundays), and web orders (with shipping worldwide).

Friday, March 15, 7-8 pm: Scifi/Fantasy Book Club! In March, we’ll gather to talk about The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K Le Guin, embracing psychology, society, and human emotion on an alien world. These gatherings are always a joy and they fill up quick! If the event is full by the time you’re hearing about it, please hop on the Eventbrite waitlist. If a seat opens up for you (which they often do), you’ll be notified right away and added to the event.
