Whether you’re a seasoned horror reader or just starting to explore the genre\, this club is the perfect place to celebrate the macabre. \nFor this gathering\, we’ll discuss Nestlings by Nat Cassidy. We’ll meet on Friday\, January 9 from 7-8pm. \nYour Eventbrite RSVP is super helpful to our planning! \nAbout the book // \nNat Cassidy is at his razor-sharp best again with his horror novel Nestlings which harnesses the creeping paranoia of Rosemary’s Baby and the urban horror of Salem’s Lot set in an exclusive New York City residential building. \nThe horrifically complicated birth of their first child has left Ana paralyzed\, bitter\, and struggling: with mobility\, with her relationship with Reid\, with resentment for her baby. That’s about to change with the words any New Yorker would love to hear—affordable housing lottery. Reid dismisses disturbing events and Ana’s deep unease and paranoia as the price of living in New York—people are odd—but he can’t explain the needle-like bite marks on the baby. They’ve won an apartment in the Deptford\, one of Manhattan’s most revered buildings with beautiful vistas of Central Park and stunning architecture and disturbing gargoyles. We hope to invite a group of people who have read the book (or don’t mind a spoiler) to discuss their thoughts.
