Join us on Friday, March 24 from 7-8 pm for Open Mic Night @ Booksweet, featuring special guest Isabella J Mansfield, a poet, spoken word artist, and 2x Pushcard Nominee.
This is a FREE event for teens and adults, but your Eventbrite RSVP is so helpful to our planning.
Want to read at our 3/24 open mic night? Priority will be given to those who sign up in advance using this form, although night-of sign ups will also be taken.
Please keep the following in in mind:
- We’ll get started at 7 pm, so if you are reading, please arrive a few minutes prior.
- Once Isabella J Mansfield, our featured guest for the evening, reads for 10 minutes, everyone will be allotted 5-10 minutes (depending on our volume of sign-ups).
- We welcome writing of all kinds at this event: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, works-in-process, or published works
- This event is for teens and adults.
- Content warnings are appreciated, with a pause to allow people to leave the room if needed.
- We don’t use a mic in our space (too intimate a setting), so you’ll need to project your voice.

Isabella J Mansfield (she/her) writes about anxiety, intimacy, and body image both generally and as a woman with a disability. She has a love for stage poetry, and has taken her work around the country and across the pond, including performances at the Oberon Theater, Cambridge, MA, and Nambucca London. A two-time Pushcart nominee, and a Write Bloody McCarthy Prize Honorable Mention, Isabella is always looking for ways to bring a little humor into her deeply personal poems, and is almost never sorry to make you cry.
